Oak cabinets before refinishing
Before

Same Kitchen — The Original Oak Cabinets

These are the original cabinets in their as-is state. We refinished them — filling and sanding the open oak grain perfectly smooth, then matching the deep green finish you see in the kitchen above. The seamless result is what careful grain fill and precise color matching deliver.

Recent Transformation

Cherry → Modern White

Same kitchen, completely transformed. We refinished the dated cherry cabinets to a smooth, clean white finish, installed new countertops and backsplash, and lowered the bar-height island to standard counter height.

Every kitchen is different, so we built an instant estimate that asks four quick questions and shows you a real number on the spot — no email-and-wait, no sales call required. Refinishing typically saves homeowners thousands compared to replacing the cabinets. Get your free estimate →
Most kitchens are wrapped up in five working days — Monday start, Friday finish. Plan on the kitchen being out of use Monday and Tuesday while we prep, prime, and spray your cabinet boxes onsite. By end of day Wednesday the boxes are finished, all the plastic and paper come down, and we clean up — so you've got your kitchen back for Thursday while the doors and drawer fronts finish curing at our shop. Friday we return to reinstall them and the job is complete.
Three terms that get mixed up:

Refinishing: your existing doors and drawer fronts come off, get prepped and sprayed in our shop, then go back on. Same cabinets, brand new finish.

Refacing: your existing doors and drawer fronts get replaced with brand new ones; your cabinet boxes stay. More expensive than refinishing, but useful if you want a completely different door style.

Replacement: everything comes out. Most expensive, most disruption.

We offer both refinishing and refacing — most projects we take on are refinishing because it delivers the biggest visual change for the least money, but if a different door style is what you're after, we'll walk you through that route too.
Yes — color choice is where the biggest visual change comes from. We've done white, black, brown, green, blue, grey, beige, and greige — solid top to bottom, or two-tone designs where the uppers and lowers are different shades, or the island gets its own color. We've also kept some homes' original wood untouched on the perimeter and only refinished the uppers, or vice versa. Whatever direction you're leaning, the instant estimate covers the color change — we don't charge extra for going lighter or darker.
A properly sprayed finish — with the right prep, primer, and topcoat — holds up to daily use the way the original factory finish on your cabinets did. We use commercial-grade products built specifically for cabinetry, and we don't cut corners on prep, which is what makes or breaks any finish job. Wipe down with a damp cloth, avoid harsh abrasives, and your cabinets will look the way they did on day one for years.
Monday and Tuesday the kitchen is largely out of commission while we prep, prime, and spray your cabinet boxes onsite — counters, sink, dishwasher, and stove are covered or taped off. By end of day Wednesday the boxes are finished, all the plastic and paper come down, and we clean everything — so you've got your kitchen back Thursday while your doors finish curing at our shop. Friday we return to reinstall the doors and the job is complete. Most homeowners empty their everyday cabinets the weekend before so we can start Monday without rearranging.
Most are. Solid wood cabinets (oak, maple, cherry, birch, alder) all refinish beautifully — that's our wheelhouse. MDF doors also take a finish well, including most newer construction-grade cabinets. The one material we'll usually talk you out of refinishing is thermofoil — the vinyl wrap, common on older builder cabinets, tends to peel before it can be properly refinished. Not sure what you have? Send a photo through the estimate form and we'll tell you straight.
This is where having a dedicated spray shop actually matters. Almost all of the spray finishing happens at our shop in Carmel, not in your kitchen. Onsite we protect your space with plastic and drop cloths, sand your cabinet boxes with HEPA-filtered Festool sanders (dust is captured at the source), and run exhaust fans to pull air out of the house while we work. We take pride in keeping the worksite clean — no tarped-off rooms, no overnight evacuations, and most homeowners stay in the house comfortably through the whole project.
